An Interactive Online Live Music Experience for People in the Comfort of Their Own Homes

About Quaranstream

The mission is to organize a schedule of Musicians Streaming Live Shows on their own platform choice (and hopefully on a uniform platform in the future) allowing the listener to enjoy live music when they can’t leave (or just don’t want to leave) their house.

The origins are from my (Josh Brussell) progression as a musician into streaming my music on line. For a few years now I have been streaming my shows on facebook so that people who couldn’t make it to my shows could enjoy some music as well as promote the venue that I was playing at encouraging people to come on down and enjoy the experience in person. When the Coronavirus became a reality in the United States and my hometown of East Hampton, I decided to stream a show from my living room because my gigs had gotten canceled and I realized that most live music was having the same problem. I did an hour set just to try it out, streaming on Facebook and for the first time youtube, and did it make an impact. So many people were so appreciative and we had a great time. I also got a hello from Italy, which really made me feel like I was making a difference in giving people a little break from the craziness that we were all facing.

Just wanted to share this with you, as I was doing a QuaranStream from my back yard this happened,

If you listen it is pretty awesome, as well as if you read the comments someone swears “they have to be famous”. Pretty awesome compliment!

Introducing QuaranStream Grams

In a day of Social Distancing, instead of sending a Singing Telegram, send a QuaranStream Gram!

As a musician, during live performances I have had people coming up to me after shows telling how a certain song I played brought them back to a place they needed to visit. For example, it took me many years to be able to sing “The Living Years” by Mike and the Mechanics as it came out the year my father passed away and was very relevant. On more than one occasion I have seen others get emotional as I played this song and then came up to me after the show and let me know what it meant to them. Recently as I have begun this QuaranStream project, I have had so much feed back, including pictures of a couple dancing to the stream as I played their wedding song. So I thought, why not send that magic to those that you care about, whether it be for a laugh, a smile, a cry, or even just a distraction.

If this is something you would like to do, click on the contact button bellow and fill out the form and we will set up your Quaranstream Gram. It can be a personalized recording that gets emailed or shared or it could be setting up a personalized live session just for them using Facetime, Facebook, YouTube, or any other platform that works best for you.

During this pandemic, another option is a drive-by stream, where I pull into your driveway at a safe social distance and play a few songs for a Happy Birthday, Baby Shower, or just as a pick me up. If you want me to stay for more than a few songs, you can leave the gate open and I can set up in your backyard at at a safe social distance.

Click on an event in the Calendar to get instructions and links on the Quaranstream Event or Click on the following to link to go to the QuaranStream Facebook Page where you can find all the streams.

As of now, There will be some sort of QuaranStream happening at least once a day including Lullaby sessions that happen after 10pm randomly, where it’s softer quieter versions of songs. Specific events will be put on the Calendar. To catch the streams of Joshua Brussell (ME!) find my on facebook as Josh Brussell or find me on instagram @hamptonmusi.

Josh puts on a totally interactive stream in which the viewers decide what he will play. Have some fun and interact and decide what the mood of the show will be. Josh plays many acoustic shows through out the East End of Long Island as well as performs with his bands Little Head Thinks and Requestline. No genre of music is excluded, as long as he knows it, he will try it.
